Surprised Leona the other day with a midday lunch in the park. She’s been working hard getting ready for school to start on Monday, so I thought she needed a nice change of pace.
Apple soda in crystal glasses really dressed up the sandwiches and chips…
Beautiful day; beautiful company.

I rarely read only one book at a time. Usually, there are four or five on the burner at any given time. Here’s a snapshot and a few quotes (emphasis mine) from a few of the books I’ve been reading lately:

The other day, I stopped to help a guy who had run off the road. His truck was in the ditch and there was a small cut on his forehead as a result of his accident.
I tried pushing the truck from behind while he put his foot on the accelerator, but it was soon [...]

Turns out it wasn’t the fan motor after all. It was the “fan wheel.” Somehow it shifted and busted and there we were without a/c. Well, the air is now working in our house again, and last night was one of the best nights of sleep I’ve had in a long time.
And [...]

Here’s this week’s “retro post” from my old blog:
I’ve discovered something about spiritual growth and maturity that really isn’t that profound. It is, however true:
“Knowing and not doing” = Pride, Bitterness, or Both.
OR
“Doing and not knowing” = Pride, Bitterness, or Both.
I believe this basic “formula” is true with rare, if any, exception.
Have you [...]
