One Night Camp-Over
It’s kinda like a sleepover, only it’s at a campground in a tent…
We made a quick one night getaway before the Easter Weekend to a campground called “Loyd Park” on Joe Pool Lake in Grand Prairie, only about an hour from our house. The van was being quirky so I didn’t trust it for the trip to Palo Dura Canyon we were were originally going to make.
It turns out that this may have been a better choice for us right now, anyway. We slept in tents, cooked over a fire, fished, made s’mores and had a great time. With restrooms, water, picnic tables and grills, it wasn’t exactly wilderness camping, but it was perfect for our one night camp-over.
When we left the campground, by the way, we were home in an hour, taking showers, watching movies and eating ice cream. Not a bad deal.
See a few pics from the adventure here. While you’re there, check out the pics from our crazy snow day from a couple of weeks ago.
Incidentally, coffee cooked over a fire can be screamin’ hot.
And that was some Crazy Coffee Caliente!
Oh, and for those who are wondering, there is a flood of Compass Church news on the way….
