  1. I was interested in your Christmas program One
Mad Christmas… can you email me so I can get more information?

  2. Johnny,

You sent us One Mad Christmas a couple of months ago. I really enjoyed reading through the production. You mentioned that you had a really rough draft of a video you would be willing to send to us to view. Also, I would really like to talk with you about the music side of this. Do you have anything that I could listen to from the production? Bottom line is, we are interested in possibly do One Mad Christmas and would like for you to call us. #724-348-1620 or #724-348-0602. Thanks.

  3. I see you are doing well. Just a line from a “youth” from back in the day in Naples.

  4. Johnny,

Can a discerning family get some background on who you are and what your beliefs are, publicly please?

You must realize there are many so called Christian churches popping up everywhere with many different gospels. Will this be another “if you build it they will come” water downed gospel driven church of ambiguities that produces more less mature Christians at the expense of the growth of others? Because the Lord knows there are no shortage of these today.

  5. Hi, James.

Thanks for stopping by and for the opportunity to share who we are and what we’re about. I’ve just posted a response to a similar question here:

The general questions you have, however, are probably best answered in this teaching I did a while back:

For more about me and what we’re all about, a good start would be to follow the links I’ve provided on this “About” page.

Hope that helps. God bless you as you seek God’s best for you and your family.

  6. Johnny,

I’m still discerning but I must hand it to you, you are making it very difficult. I have not once read or heard the gospel from you. I see a lot about family. Mormons are very family oriented but are diligent in spreading a false gospel. I saw a lot spoken about being leaders and becoming motivated. Are not false teachers likewise seeking the same?

For two years you have blogged about self. Where was Jesus Christ ever mentioned as the way the truth and the life? What exactly is your truth?

I pray it is not the same as Rick Warren’s whom you esteemed. Rick is the pop-Christian master of ambiguity and equivocation whose central message is that truth and certainty is overrated and assurance is arrogance. He and other postmodernized evangelicals would agree that it is better to keep changing ones mind and keep your theology in a constant state of flux. No wonder Obama likes him. Uncertainty is the new truth of the world today, please tell us its not yours.

    In Christ Jesus,

  7. James,

    I’ll blog it slowly.

    * Jesus is the Way, The Truth and the Life.

    * No one comes to the Father but by Him.

    * He was crucified, buried in a tomb and was raised on the third day and then ascended into heaven.

    * Leadership doesn’t save anyone.

    *My family doesn’t save anyone.

    * My hobbies do not save anyone.

    * Retro Coffee Pots do not save anyone.

    * Only Jesus Christ saves anyone.

    * Jesus was God in the Flesh.

    * Jesus Christ alone is the way to life.

    * The Bible is the Word of God.

Unless it was unclear, Jesus is the only way to heaven.

James, I’m afraid you are not quite as discerning as you believe yourself to be. It is impossible to not know where I stand on any of these issues if you have read my blog for two years.

But here are some things I know you won’t like about me or what we will be attempting to do in the Alliance, Texas area:

    * I love Rick Warren.

    * I care about reaching people who are far from God more than I care about reaching people who are already Christians.

    * I believe that Christians who no longer care about reaching people far from God are immature Christians.

    * This is a blog. Not a daily devotional. Seriously, you’ve seen blogs, before, right? I’m sorry you’ve missed the point of mine.

    * I believe that anyone who uses the words “ambiguity” and “equivocation” in the same sentence really should have their own blog.

    * I’m amazed that you have apparently spent so much time on my blog trying to figure out if I am a Christian or not.

    * I do not believe that “Uncertainty is the new truth of the world today.” I believe that for some Christians, “Slamming other Christians rather than being busy about sharing Christ with our world (in real life, not just on a blog) is the new truth of the world today.”

James, I honestly hope you discover where God wants you to serve, but it’s pretty evident that it won’t be with us. I would encourage you to use the time God has given you more wisely by searching elsewhere.

We simply are not going to see eye to eye here. It shouldn’t take much discernment to realize that.

God bless you in your journey.

  8. Conversing with you on this matter is reaching people Johnny. I love you and so does our Lord. The Emerging / Emergent Church movement may line your pockets with dough but it will leave a new believer empty and on their way back into the world, which will do more harm for the cause of Christ and His church.

I believe you have great intentions but have drank the postmodern cool-aid. My I recommend a book by John MacArthur called “Truth Wars”. He is just one of many who have articulated the dangers of this newest movement that has been creeping into the evangelical church for the past 10 years.

I pray discernment for you and hopefully one day you find this your conversation and ministry and save many brothers whom you know from incurring our Fathers judgment.

    God Bless you,

  9. “Discernment.” You keep using that word.

…I don’t think it means what you think it means. 🙂

For everyone who has followed this odd string of comments between “James” and me, I want you to know that I have zero to do with the Emerging / Emergent Church movement, and am afraid that James does not have a clue what that actually means, anyway.

And there are no organizations onboard with us at the moment who are “lining our pockets” with anything. I actually laughed out loud when I read that part. We haven’t even had our first service, yet, for heaven’s sake.

So much for the discernment of “Annonymous James.”

I broke my own rule by letting him comment on my blog without letting us know who he really is….

Sorry to everyone who was distracted by this. We now go back to our regularly scheduled bloggidy goodness.
